Turbo Haskell JITs GHC Core on Truffle and can compile GHC itself
THC takes over after GHC parsing, typechecking and Core optimization, then JIT- or AOT-compiles programs through Truffle and GraalVM; it can compile GHC itself. The project is a substantial example of reusing a mature compiler front end with a different runtime.
- What
- THC is a Haskell JIT and AOT compiler that runs GHC Core on the JVM.
- How
- GHC handles parsing through Core optimization; THC then compiles and executes Core using a Truffle/GraalVM runtime.
- Why it matters
- Its JIT, AOT, and polyglot FFI support let engineers run Haskell programs, produce executables, and call libraries from other languages.
