VLA-Rolling reuses discarded action tails to reduce denoising cost
The framework carries unexecuted action tails into the next planning round and allocates refinement steps using per-action confidence; it lowers inference cost across all 16 tested model–benchmark pairs. Adaptive reuse could reduce the latency and compute cost of iterative action generation.
- What
- VLA-Rolling reuses unexecuted action tails from flow-matching vision-language-action chunks instead of restarting each plan from noise.
- Method
- It inherits tails, estimates per-action confidence, then renoises and allocates denoising steps while keeping the VLA frozen.
- Why it matters
- It reduces inference cost in every tested model-benchmark pair and improves success in most, offering a more efficient approach to robot control.
